Establishment:
The KFAED is A Kuwaiti public corporation established by the State of Kuwait in order to provide assistance to Arab and other developing countries in developing their economies. It was established in December 31,1961 and commenced its operations in March 1962.

Objectives:
KFAED was established as an agency for the provision and administration of financial and technical assistance to the developing countries, the Fund is dedicated to promoting cooperation and friendship between Kuwait and other developing countries. It achieves the said objective by extending financial assistance to developing countries.

Operations:
  • Cumulative consolidated operations from establishment till end of 2001 was about $10.25 billion.
  • Total number of beneficiary countries is 92.
  • KFAED activities include extending loans, guarantees and grants; providing technical assistance services; participating in the capital of development institutions; and representing the State of Kuwait in regional and international organizations.
